Taking its name from the acronym for Dreaming Art Centre of Utopia, DACOU Gallery Melbourne is a leading Aboriginal family-owned art gallery.
Founded by Utopia community member Fred Torres in 1993, DACOU is one of Australia's most prominent Aboriginal galleries and is recognised as the leading supplier of quality Utopia art.
The gallery specialises in Aboriginal art from the Irrultja community in the Utopia region, located 270 kilometres north-east of Alice Springs, and represents close and extended family members of Fred Torres. DACOU takes pride in being the only commercial Indigenous gallery in Australia that is working with its own family and community.
